Heat Clanfield Reaches Major Milestone Stage 1 Feasibility Grant Awarded!

Our community action group, Heat Clanfield, has made good progress as we look to find new ways to heat buildings in Clanfield sustainably, without relying on fossil fuels. We have appointed Scene Connect to carry out a feasibility study into what low carbon ways we could choose to heat our homes. This follows winning a Stage 1 Feasibility Grant from the Community Energy Fund (paid for by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, and administered by the Greater South East Net Zero Hub) and we are well on our way to becoming a Community Benefit Society. Once we are incorporated as Heat Clanfield Limited and have a bank account, Scene can get started. This is planned for the end of October and through the winter, ready with recommendations late March or early April. Anyone who wants to come to the consultants’ presentation will be very welcome, and we will be making sure everyone has the opportunity to read or hear the proposals and also to make comments. Heat Clanfield has a small team keeping this project going. If you would like to take an active part, please contact me at: angusfraser1906@gmail.com NZB_DESNZ_logos
